Professional 26 Ft Tree Pole Pruner Tree Saw

The pole with just the saw blade on it works amazing, wonderful product the pull string limb cutter attachment however is the cheapest piece of crap I have ever seen. the thin poorly made plastic pullys with no bearings, with a rope that's not the right size for the pullies jams up every single time you try to use it and it's built so poorly I don't think it could cut through a carrot.

amazingly lightweight and strong enough, do not use force, start with lower and smaller branches to learn mechanics, then go for the bigger and higher ones, do not apply force, especially when pushing the saw, may be a little force when pulling, work with the pole almost vertical to avoid bending, when half way through, switch the side.

I have three hardwood trees in my front yard that grow over my roof and I keep them trimmed so limbs aren't rubbing and damaging the shingles or siding. I've been using a pole saw that I cobbled together some years ago but I needed something with more reach so I bought this unit and I think it works pretty well. The storage bag is substantial and having a cover for the blade is great because it is wicked sharp. I very much like the 'hooks' on the front and back of the blade so while sawing I do not have to worry about pulling the blade off the limb, also the outer hook will grab a cut limb to pull it down if it hangs up. I was impressed that the blade cuts very fast and only hung up in a cut once. The directions mention oiling the blade to prevent rust and to improve cutting efficiency so I put some Three in One oil on the blade and maybe that will help reduce hanging up in green wood. The rubber handle is just a slip on arrangement so I put some glue on that so it won't pull off. Also, as the sections are screwed together, while using it is necessary to check that the threads are not backing off, I may drill through the threads and insert cotter keys in the future but for now it is not a big deal. I have used this saw several times now, and it is doing a great job. I will say it is quite a handful at it's full 26 feet but that's somewhat to do with the three shoulder surgeries I've had so my upper body strength is not what it used to be, but I'm still cuttin' with this unit.

I probably saved $800 worth of tree work clearing low limbs using Scalebeard 26 Foot Tree Trimmer Pole Manual Pruner Cutter Set. The limbs that I cut down were so large in diameter I had to use my gas chain saw to cut them up. Good product if you are strong and persistent.

You can use just the lengths of pole you need to reach. Study and sharp. Remember to let the saw do the work. Don't try to force it.

Easy to carry…has carrying bag. Easy to put together and use. The stops on both ends of blades keep saw on target. I only wish I had purchased the model with a lopper on it.

Got this for palm tree trimming. Works great for me and having segments makes it easy to dial in the length I need to do the job well. One suggestion would be put a very light film of oil on the threads prior to use. I had two segments that got stuck and really had to wrench on them to get them apart. Five Stars !!

These are lightweight and great if you are only looking to attach two poles. However, if you are looking to cut limbs beyond two poles this is not an ideal tool to get complete that job. These poles screw together and no matter how tight you screw them together there is a lot of vibration being created when you pull and push to cut limbs. That causes the poles to flex and that vibration causes stuff that was tight to loosen. Beyond 16' these poles flex so much that the effort needed to cut anything vertically or at an angle is a major workout.

For the height it reaches it is lightweight however the higher it goes the more unwieldy it is and the fiberglass poles can bend while getting it in place. Once the scabbard is on the branch and gets a bite it cuts very well but again with higher heights this could take a little bit of effort. It is seven links total and after five links I would definitely suggest two people to use it. Also after cutting it is a good idea to re-check the links to make sure they are still tight. I noticed a couple times a couple of the links did become a little loose but all you have to do is re-tighten them and you’re ready to go again. I would not get this if you’re planning heavy duty commercial work however for a little bit of trimming around the house works very well.

After cutting 3 branches the 4th branch was difficult...The 2 nuts and bolts holding the blade was missing a nut and the handle was missing a bolt and nuts..The blade holder metal was broken metal...I was happy with it until it broke.Update::: The saw blade and handles are such good quality I put JB Weld on the broken blade holder and used it until the blade holder completely broke sticking the blade in a branch.. When I use saw blades to cut branches I use motor oil or PB Blaster on the blade in between cutting branches it makes it easier...The easiest way to cut with any hook blade saw is to put the blade where you are going to cut and use your arm's slowly lifting up and down the saw does the work.. When you get half through the branch take a couple of steps back and the middle to end of the blade will do all the work...As the branch breaks speed up cutting quickly so the branch falls straight down and you don't have to start another cut on a hanging branch...I would have given 5 star's but 2 bolts are fail point 3 bolts would have prevented it from breaking..

Very sharp. Lightweight but sturdy. I use it to prune palm trees along the wall of the property line. The hook end is useful for snagging the fronds so they don't fall over the wall. Of course it also snags as I'm maneuvering it but that's unavoidable. The detachable handle extensions are a great feature that allows it to be used as an up close hand saw or a long pole saw.
